Child safety in the home can be ensured by following these steps:

1. Supervise children and teach them about what is and isn’t safe.

2. Childproof your home to prevent accidents.

3. Develop a home safety plan and practice different ways to get out of your home.

4. Keep hazardous items out of reach, including guns, coin lithium batteries, choking hazards, toxic substances, hot and sharp items.

5. Learn first aid and CPR to be prepared for emergencies.
